Here’s the story behind TiT, testimonials from teachers and Q&As.

Still, Marylina made the move. She taught for a semester in Thailand, then secured another job by building connections with local agencies and schools. After that, she spent a semester teaching in Vietnam before transitioning to online teaching while traveling through Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Laos.

Yes! 90% of schools and placement programs in Thailand require a TEFL certification. Having a TEFL not only gives you more opportunities and access to higher-paying jobs, but it also allows you to teach online or secure placements in other countries. It’s definitely worth it!

Government schools offer salaries ranging from 30,000 to 40,000 THB per month (£650–£870) and provide the majority of teaching placements.

No, but native speakers (from the USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa) have an advantage. Non-native speakers can still get hired if they have a strong English proficiency, a TEFL certificate, and a degree.

Teachers need a Non-Immigrant B Visa (£60 for UK passport holders) before entering Thailand – we will share further information during our process. Once hired, schools help process a work permit. Required documents include:

A medical certificate (sometimes required), a passport with at least six months’ validity, a degree certificate (original and notarized), a police clearance certificate.

6-12 months for Government schools, 2+ years for International schools
